Original Problem 20 for the Triangles Study Guide

A colleague challenged me to solve this problem back in 1990 where we were both math tutors at the time. When he asked me what answer I got and I told him, he wondered how I arrived at the answer. He said he used some theorems that I never heard of before nor saw were necessary.

For the solution, I show the same practical approach that I have shown you in the study guides using only basic geometry concepts. This approach always leads to the correct answer, and the reasoning is clear to understand, causing the answer to make more sense.
